Under 10's first match of the new season was against Straffan AFC at our home pitch.
A special thanks to all the parents(and our Betty!) who turned out to support the team, it is much appreciated!
This was the first time the team played 2 - 25 minute halves, and did they play brilliantly!
We had a squad of 12 players to pick from and our new players Sean Muldoon and Billy Kelly complimented an already strong team.
After going down 2 nil by half time the team rallied in the second half well and after a cool finish by Oisin Hand to bring us to 2-1 it was shortly followed by a strong corner by Liam Blake which was expertly finished by a volley by the in-form Josh Gannon.
It was a nail biting finish with Ben Kehoe pulling off some great saves, Emma Swords with some (Vinny Jones) tackling. Prosperous defended great with nothing passing the ever-strong Cillian Barr. The Midfield worked tirelessly with Jamie Hand, Garrett Davitt, Jack O'Sullivan and Alan Gartland covering every blade of the pitch.
A great first match of the season, if they continue with the same effort throughout the season, it will be a good one!
Special mention to the new addition to the backroom staff, our nutritionist and tactician- Kevin Gannon.
