Folks.
As Child Welfare Officer it is my responsibility to ensure that your children are looked after in a responsible & safe manner when participating in games & training for Prosperous.
Today was the 1st really cold day we have seen & it was noticed that a large number of young children were arriving without adequate warm clothing.
Young children find it difficult to generate heat & therefore they are more susceptible to the effects of cold on their bodies than adults. The club would like to see all young children arriving with a minimum of a tracksuit top, bottoms & a hat throughout the winter months for both training & match day.
Potentially they can be standing around for up to 1hr before a game starts & it is impossible to keep warm for that period of time.
With team rotation there will be time on the sideline during a game, again cooling down. Wearing only a jersey to keep you warm it is easy to hurt yourself when going back into a game. Team Managers can only give advise but it is up to you the parents to ensure your children have the best chance of staying warm.
Please ensure your children understand that they need to put their warm clothing on if they are not on the field.
It is fantastic you see so many young children playing for the club & we want to ensure that they all stay well throughout the winter period & get to play as much football as possible without illness intervening.

Regards
Ed.House
